The NSW Government’s Home Energy Saver program can help eligible households cover the cost of solar power, battery storage, and other eligible energy upgrades, with a discount of up to $4,000 or a zero-interest loan of up to $15,000, repayable over up to 10 years.

A note on cost: if you’re approved for the discount, you’ll still need to contribute at least $200 yourself towards the total cost of the upgrade.
Can I get both the loan and the discount?
Yes, if you qualify for both. If your upgrade costs more than the $4,000 discount covers, the loan can help cover the rest. If you’re interested in both, it’s best to wait and apply for the discount first once applications open, then apply for the loan.
