Solahart offered the best out-of-pocket pricing for our modest needs by far (5kw on-grid solar). After the inverter in our existing solar system died, it took 9 months (and two big bills) to notice due to having no easy way to monitor the status of the system. Turns out that due to compatibility issues, all of the panels needed to be replaced also. The original installer has long gone so there is no redress for only lasting 8 years. Still saved money but not nearly as much as projected based on promises. Thus we decided to go with a company that has been around since before anyone was putting PV panels on house rooves. I have since heard another good credible report of the integrity and reliability of Solahart. Installation was easy and fast. We had a PV system installed by Solahart Newcastle seven years ago, followed up by additional panels six months ago. Recently, the system stopped working abruptly. Until then, operation had been faultless. Solahart came out and replaced the SolarEdge inverter under warranty. It now appears to be working even better than before. We also have a Solahart rooftop solar hot water system. Although Solahart are not the cheapest on the market, I feel that this is more than made up for with the quality and reliability of the equipment, and the after sales backup. The crew on the recent visit were prompt, polite, efficient and neat and tidy. I am more than happy to recommend Solahart.

Rodney Clare gave us excellent advice and help at the planning stage, which was important considering the less than optimum roof aspect and some partial shading by trees. The installation went without a hitch and it was good to be able to fine-tune the location of panels with the crew on the day. The performance of the system, from start-up in mid-December, has exceeded our expectations – output is great even on cloudy days and we are covering our needs (pool pumps, air conditioning, dishwasher, laundry etc.) generally throughout daylight hours (often 7am to 7pm for the current summer period). Cheaper Home Batteries Program

NSW Solar Rebates 2025: Virtual Power Plant (VPP) Incentives

This incentive is provided by the NSW Government. The offer commenced on 1 November 2024, and changed on 1 July 2025. The incentive is proportional to the usable capacity of the battery in kilowatt-hours (kWh). Larger batteries will receive a larger incentive. Your system must remain connected and active in the program to receive full benefits. To qualify for these incentives, you must: – Have an existing solar system or be purchasing rooftop solar. – Purchase a new battery. – Use a certified installer, such as Solahart. – Meet the requirements for eligible batteries.

(1) Solar water heaters and heat pumps are great for the environment, and the Australian Government Renewable Energy Target scheme provides a mechanism that offers a generous incentive to help you make the switch. The incentive comes in the form of Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs) that can be traded and sold on the open market or can be used as an upfront discount to reduce the purchase price of your new system. The number of certificates that can be created per system is based on its geographical location (zone) and varies with the type, size and model of the system installed. The value of an STC is not fixed and varies depending on market factors. Currently, each certificate is worth $36. (2) Like STCs, ESCs have a variable market value and are subject to change. Their value can also be used to offer a discount on the purchase of a solar or heat pump water heater. Currently, each certificate is worth $26. The ESCs are only available in NSW. (3) What is not covered under this program – The replacement of an electric water heater with a solar (gas boosted) water heater, as the NSW ESS does not incentivise new gas connections. – Installations of new solar water heaters or heat pump water heaters in new buildings or where there is no existing electric or gas hot water system. – The replacement of an existing solar water heater or heat pump water heater. – Any installation undertaken to comply with any mandatory legal requirement imposed through a statutory or regulatory instrument of any jurisdiction, including, but not limited to, compliance with BCA and BASIX-affected development requirements, except for alterations, enlargements or extensions of a BASIX-affected development and a water heater is being replaced. * Energy savings of up to 65% shown are based on Australian Government-approved TRNSYS simulation modelling of a Solahart 302L and using a medium load in Zone 3 and apply when replacing an electric water heater. Any savings will vary depending upon your location, type of Solahart system installed, orientation and inclination of the solar collectors, type of water heater being replaced, hot water consumption and fuel tariff. Maximum financial savings off your hot water bill are achievable when replacing an electric water heater on a continuous tariff.
